REI Authorized Provider Policies and Disclosures

Privacy Notice

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for (stronginstitute.com and stronginstitute.org). This privacy notice applies to information collected from our REI Training Programs.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.                     

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:

* See what data we have about you, if any.
* Change/correct any data we have about you.
* Have us delete any data we have about you.
* Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

We don't store credit card information either online or offline.

Registration

In order to use some features of these websites, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give certain information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about the products/services on our site in which you have expressed interest and to support your use of our products and services.

Orders

We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we'll use this information to contact you.

Cookies

We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

Web site visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using these websites, with the drawback that certain features of these websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Non-discrimination policy

The Strong Institute prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin, mental or physical disability, political belief or affiliation, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, and any other class of individuals protected from discrimination under state or federal law in any aspect of the access to, admission, or treatment of students in its programs and activities, or in employment and application for employment.

Furthermore, Strong Institute policy includes prohibitions of harassment of students and employees, i.e., racial harassment, sexual harassment, and retaliation for filing complaints of discrimination.

The Strong Insitute is committed to making our training programs available to anyone, including those with disabilities. We comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and will make accomodations to our training programs to ensure their accessibility.

The Strong institute also insures that our instructors follow these policies with high standards of professional conduct. A. They agree in writing that they understand and will follow these policies. B. Complaints are taken seriously and will fully investigated by the IRB. C. If it is determined that a breach in this policy has occurred, the instructor will face reeducation or disciplinary action.

Complaint resolution Policy and Procedure

It is the policy of the Strong Institute to provide a complaint resolution procedure that is timely and responsive to our continuing education learners and clients. A formal complaint shall be in writing and shall set forth a statement of the issue and the specific remedy sought. This complaint will be forwarded to a CS Administer who will pursue this complaint according to the following procedures:

Level 1: Absent extraordinary circumstances, the person to whom the complaint has been submitted shall conduct, within seven (7) business days of receiving the complaint, a formal conference with the complainant, permitting her or him to provide any necessary relevant information. The CS Administer will confer with the other person or persons involved and conduct an additional investigation as he or she deems necessary. Absent extraordinary circumstances, a written recommendation shall be rendered within seven (7) business days of the first formal conference. The recommendation shall be sent to the student and the other involved person or persons. The written recommendation shall state the background information, the rationale for the recommendation, and the recommended remedy (if any). Copies of the original complaint and the written recommendation are kept in the CS Director’s Office for a minimum of five years.

Level 2: If the complaint is not resolved in level 1, the student, client, or one of the other involved parties may, with fourteen (14) business days of receipt of the level 1 recommendation, appeal to the CS Director. Absent extraordinary circumstances, the CS Director shall hold a hearing within fourteen (14) business days of receipt of the appeal or complaint. Absent extraordinary circumstances, a written recommendation shall be sent to the student, client and others within fourteen (14) business days of such hearing.   In cases of appeals to level 2, copies of the original complaint and the level 2 and 3 written recommendations are kept in the CS Director’s office for a minimum of five years.

Level 3: Except in the case of a complaint against the CEO where the Board of Directors has final authority, appeals of the level 2 recommendation are submitted to the CEO within fourteen (14) business days. The CEO will make the final decision. Absent extraordinary circumstances, the CEO's written decision shall be sent to the student, client and other parties within fourteen (14) business days of receiving the level 3 appeal. In cases of appeals to level 3, copies of the original complaint, the previous written recommendations, and the final decision are kept in the CEO's Office for a minimum of five years.

Commercial disclosure

Our REI Authorized Provider Training Program is for the purpose of training professionals in the evaluation and implementation of Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention (REI) CDs and programs and, as such, the training is promoting REI CDs and Programs which providers may purchase for use by their clients. Purchase is not necessary.

Copyright policy

The Strong Institute Training Programs are owned by Strong Institute and are subject to copyright and other intellectual property rights granted under United States and foreign laws and international conventions.

These training programs use some images and excerpts (as quotes) that are not copyrighted by the Strong Institute. These images and excerpts are properly used and referenced as scholarly research according the doctrine of fair use as described in the Report of the Register of Copyrights on the General Revision of the U.S. Copyright Law.

The Content on the training programs is provided to you for your personal use only and your are granted the license to view these training programs and the material in these training programs on a computer or mobile device and print pages from these training programs for your own [non-commercial] use. If you download or print or reproduce a copy of the Content for your personal use, you must retain all copyright and other proprietary notices related to such content.

You may not broadcast, copy, display, distribute, license, publish, reproduce, sell, transmit, or otherwise exploit for any other purposes whatsoever, in any form or media, without the prior written consent of the Strong Institute.

You agree not to circumvent, disable or interfere with security related features of the training videos, including features that prevent or restrict the use or copying of any Content contained on these Websites.

Strong Institute retains ownership of all licensed content to third-parties, including REI Content Licensees, educational program providers, and authorized Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention (REI) providers and referrers.

Training cancellation policy

Live Training: Deposits are non-refundable (Note: $50 of the live training registration fee is for deposit to reserve your place, the rest is designated as tuition). Tuition is refundable (less the deposit) up to 14 days prior to the seminar date. Tuition is non-refundable less than 14 days prior to the event, but is transferable (subject to a $40 transfer fee) to a future seminar provided there is space available.

Onine Training: The online training courses are self-paced programs and, as such, there is no cancellation option. You may request a refund if you are unable to view the trainings due to technological issues. Please make siure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements before purchasing the training.
 
Note: All cancellation refunds will be issued within 30 days in the same manner as the original payment we received. If registration is paid by credit card we will need your original credit card information with the refund request, as we do not keep these details on file.

Training Eligibility

This training program is for licensed health care professionals working with children and adults with a variety of neurological disorders including AD/HD (ADD, ADHD), Autism, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Depression, PTSD, Sleep Disorders, and others. Because this program begins with the foundations of music and its influence on the central nervous system, this training is open to anyone with licensure in the areas of occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, nursing, family therapy, social work, psychiatry, neurology, general practice physician, chiropractic, naturopathy, and others. There is no pre-requisite to this training other than licensure in the areas listed above.

Individuals without licensure in the above areas will be considered on a case by case basis. 

REI Authorized Provider Training is for both the intermediate and advanced educational levels who wish to reach competence as a REI Authorized Provider

Continuing Education Classifications

Satisfactory completion requirements for the trainings are as follows:

  • Learners who register for the online training will progress through all 24 video sessions and successfully complete the section quizzes. They will also complete the end of course evaluation.
  • Learners who attend the live course will complete the full day’s lectures, successfully complete the end of course quiz and the end of course evaluation.
